Peugeot service history: who holds the record
The short answer
No site can look up a Peugeot service history from a registration, because the UK has no servicing database to look it up in. We do not hold or sell service records. Peugeot keeps its own record of franchised work in Digital Service Record; you get it from Peugeot or a dealer, using the route below. Then cross-check it against the free DVSA MOT trail, which we do hold and which is on this page.

Peugeot's Digital Service Record was announced by Stellantis on 7 April 2022 as a way to "keep all maintenance and service operations in one place". It is activated in store at a Peugeot retailer, displayed in the MyPEUGEOT app, and — the part that trips buyers up — it starts from activation.
MyPEUGEOT app. Stores and displays servicing details once the record has been activated at a retailer.
How to actually get it
- Ask the seller to open MyPEUGEOT and show you the record.
- Ask a Peugeot retailer to look up the VIN for work done before activation, or anywhere the app is blank.
- If the engine is a PureTech, read the section below before you agree a price.
Peugeot UK — contact us. Check it on Peugeot’s own site before you dial — published contact routes change, and this was last checked in August 2026.
What we could not verify
A row of sites will tell you all of this with total confidence. We checked Peugeot's own published material and could not, so here is the list rather than a plausible guess. If one of these matters to your purchase, it is a question to put to the dealer directly.
- What identification a retailer asks for before releasing a record to someone who is not the keeper.
- Any fee. Stellantis presents activation as complimentary.
PureTech: the service record is now a warranty document
Stellantis operates a compensation platform for "previous generations of the PureTech 1.0 and 1.2 engines", covering "100% of the costs for up to 10 years or 180,000 kilometers for both parts and labor" on repairs relating to "excessive oil consumption and/or premature degradation of the timing belt", for repairs carried out between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2024. Claims require submitting the documents Stellantis asks for. That turns a PureTech car's service and repair paperwork from reassurance into a potentially valuable asset — and makes a missing file a direct financial loss. Check the engine, then check the file.
What the MOT trail shows about a Peugeot
This is not a service history and cannot be turned into one — the MOT record says nothing about oil changes, cambelts or brake fluid. What it is, is the one independent record of the car’s life that the seller has never been able to touch. Two things in it are real evidence about maintenance: the mileage the invoices have to agree with, and what testers keep writing up.
438,497
Peugeot vehicles in our DVSA MOT data with a test in the active window
55.6%
had at least one defect or advisory at their latest test — close to the 31-make average of 53.3%
6,684
median miles a year over the car’s life — 417 below the 31-make median of 7,101
The mileage spread is the number to take to a viewing. Half of all Peugeot vehicles in our data average between 4,587 and 9,372 miles a year across their whole life. A car well outside that band is not automatically suspect — but it should match the story the seller and the invoices tell, and a service book whose intervals imply a very different annual mileage from the odometer is the discrepancy you came to find.
| Advisory item | Per 1,000 Peugeots |

| Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing | 86.4 |

| Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement | 43.2 |
Source: MOT Checkup analysis of DVSA MOT history records — advisories recorded at the most recent test of 438,497 Peugeot vehicles, active window to 2026-04-12. Counts structured DVSA reason-for-rejection items only; free-text tester notes are excluded because they do not aggregate. Position words such as “nearside front” are stripped so the same defect groups as one item. Contains public sector information obtained under our DVSA-approved MOT History API key; DVSA publishes no data licence for that product.
Read that list as a checklist rather than a verdict. Every item on it is something a service should have caught before a tester saw it, so when you look at a specific Peugeot’s MOT history, the question is not whether these appear — they appear on most cars — but whether they appear and then stop. An advisory that is written up at three consecutive tests is a fault the owner was told about three times and left alone, and it is telling you more about how the car was looked after than the folder is.
Across all 31 makes we cover, 53.3% of latest tests logged at least one item, so treat Peugeot's 55.6% as a brand-level comparison and nothing more. It says nothing about the particular car you are looking at, and brands whose fleets are younger and less heavily used will read lower for reasons that have nothing to do with servicing. For the individual car, run its registration.
